Macleay Gardens Apartments has several buildings around a pleasant grassy courtyard with trees (including some fruiting trees) a walkway, a little stone wall and generally peaceful atmosphere (and we're only about 400 feet from the entrance to Macleay Park - one of the nicest areas in Portland's famous Forest Park). Each building has entryways separated from the others by a thick firewall and even within the apartments, the walls are double thick (plaster over sheetrock), so you get a good sense of privacy. There are only four apartments in each entryway (2 downstairs, 2 upstairs). The apartments are very bright because they all have windows on at least two sides of the building. We just installed new energy efficient windows!
